The AI-Forward Paralegal Course
Four in-person evening sessions in the Rio Grande Valley. Taught by a practicing Texas attorney. Free for the founding cohort in exchange for full participation and honest feedback.
Express InterestThe Problem
AI does not reduce the need for judgment. It raises the stakes on it.
Every law office adopting AI-assisted drafting now needs someone who can verify sources, catch hallucinated citations, and maintain the professional standard the attorney’s signature guarantees. The machine can write. It cannot know. That gap is where the work lives — and where the liability accumulates if no one is watching.
This course teaches verification discipline from the ground up, alongside the practical legal-drafting workflows that make it actionable.
No legal experience required. Spanish is a plus.
The Method
The Closed-Universe Workflow
You control the authorities. The machine writes within them. Hallucination detection becomes structural, not guesswork.
- 1. You build the universe of valid legal sources.
- 2. AI drafts within that closed universe, using only the authorities you provide.
- 3. Any citation outside your universe is automatically suspect — the error reveals itself.
This is how I handle active state and federal litigation. This is what I will teach you.
What you learn
- Practice-ready Texas legal documents — notices of appearance, representation letters, motions, and proposed orders drafted from realistic case files and verified against real authority
- Texas courts and e-filing — cause numbers, court structure, filing mechanics, and how to fix a rejected submission
- Professional law-office skills — client communication, bilingual workflows, timekeeping, billing
- The verification discipline — because the attorney’s bar number is on the signature line, not the machine’s
What you leave with
- A portfolio of legal work product suitable for internship, employment, or law-school applications
- A certificate of completion from Law Nerd LLC
- Personal attorney review of every assignment
- Priority consideration for paid work and referrals as opportunities arise
Why this exists
The legal market is splitting. Firms that adopt AI-forward workflows will need trained professionals who can operate them — remotely, reliably, across jurisdictions. The ones who avoided the tools will be left behind. The ones who trusted them uncritically will commit malpractice.
The gap between those two failures is where this course lives.
The Rio Grande Valley has bilingual professionals with the intelligence and work ethic to fill this role. What has been missing is training that treats AI as a serious professional tool requiring rigor — not a shortcut, not magic, not a replacement for thought.
This is that training.
The format
Four in-person evening sessions. Small class. Realistic case files. Personal feedback on every assignment.
